Find Them Here

Digital collage of Greenwood, Tulsa, OK street map. On the map are a picture of Greenwood with all 40-blocks of businesses and homes burned to the ground. Also pictured, Black people throughout Tulsa were captured and taken to the fairgrounds and other locations. They were kept there until a White person came to vouch for the Black person. Only after they had been vouched for were Blacks allowed to leave.

The Red Cross organized the places where Blacks were being held. They tried to keep lists of where each person was located and they attempted to feed, clothe, and shelter the residents of Greenwood who had only escaped with their lives and the clothes on their backs.
